Damon Hernandez, Jr. performs "Polonaise in D Major" by Henri Wieniawski in his Senior Violin Recital presented by The String Connection at Southern Nevada Music on July 1, 2026. Jae Ahn, Collaborative Pianist Damon Hernandez, Jr. is a graduate of Green Valley High School and has been playing the violin for seven years. He began his musical journey in his sixth-grade orchestra and expanded his studies with private lessons beginning in ninth grade. Under the guidance of Ms. Shakeh Ghoukasian at The String Connection, Damon has developed both his technical skills and artistic expression. He is a winner of numerous local competitions, including MTNA Senior String Division Winner for Nevada and All-State Orchestra Command Performer Winner for upper strings. This fall, Damon will attend the University of Nevada, Reno, pursuing degrees in Violin Performance and Civil Engineering.
