We became grandparents... and while we were away meeting our beautiful granddaughter Florence, something else happened that completely changed life aboard our narrowboat. After spending 17 unforgettable days with our family and meeting Florence for the very first time, we returned to discover that our boat had undergone a major transformation. Although our planned roof repaint had to be postponed due to illness, Ian Taylor – the original builder of our narrowboat – carried out a series of upgrades that have already made a huge difference. He installed our new WattCycle 314Ah Mini LiFePO₄ lithium battery, serviced the engine, repaired the horn and even handcrafted a beautiful new wooden rear sliding hatch.
