2026 Kia EV5 Test Drive: Better Efficiency Than the Official Numbers? Here's What We Got

I took the 2026 Kia EV5 out for a full test drive and here is everything I found. In this video I cover the new Bold Motion Symphony chime design, the HUD and automatic lane change assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and the ambient lighting system that responds to drive modes. I also test the Acceleration Limit Assist (ALA 2.0) live on camera, which actually prevented me from completing a 0 to 100 km/h run. A first for any Hyundai Motor Group car. On the efficiency side, our group averaged 5.7 km/kWh with one driver hitting 7.7 km/kWh, both well above the official combined figure of 5.1 km/kWh. On the tech side, I go over the 12.3 inch dual displays, the five inch AC dedicated display first seen on the EV9, the Avengers and Disney themed UI options, and the all new Kia Add Gear modular storage system making its debut on the EV5. I also walk through the fully flat second row and trunk setup, Pet Mode, and the rear seat table. The NVH is impressive thanks to dual acoustic laminated glass, the ride quality is well suited for a family EV SUV, and the single motor front wheel drive setup delivers more than enough everyday performance. I also demo RSPA 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist, completely hands free in a tight parking lot.
