It used to be a place for boatmen to dock their boats, fishermen to dry their nets, and a prosperous market town for commerce and trade. However, the old Hongkou Street is now a completely different place. In the process of demolition and renovation, many old buildings have been demolished, and the vacant houses are like the sets of movie scenes.
