Doen Daphne d'over schoone Maeght - Van Eyck
"A pleasant new Ballad of Daphne" was an english ballade, written in the early 17th century and further adapted by the Dutch Poet Jan Janszoon Starter (ca. 1594-1626), who published it in 1622 as "Doen Daphne d'overschoone Maeght" ("When Daphne, that most beautiful maiden"). In 1644, Jacob Van Eyck published his variations on this melodic theme for the recorder on the first edition of "Der Fluyten Lust-hof", the largest collection of music for a single wind instrument ever published by a single composer. Recorder: Lucas Debortoli. Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Nederlands. 13/02/2025 (Blok Week Concert, February 2025). Recorder: Ganassi Alto G (415Hz) by Tom de Vries.
