This 911 Killer is The Rarest Porsche You've Never Heard Of

Back in the 1990's when Porsche was struggling, a few renegade employees decided to build a 968 Turbo S, a transaxle monster that was almost the fastest car in Porsche's line-up. The 968 Turbo S built as a homologation for the ADAC GT Cup. Didn't know there was a turbo 968? That's not surprising as there were only 4 race cars built, and only 14 homologated examples. On it's first outing at the ADAC GT Cup at Avus in 1993, the 968 Turbo RS driven by Manuel Rueter for Team Joest beat every other Porsche on the track to come in 4th place. It was an incredible debut for the race car, but unfortunately none of the 4 RS cars built would ever place as high again. The homologated Turbo S was faster than everything else Porsche had to offer except for the 911 Turbo 3.6.
