Van Der Hagen Traditional Shave Set Re-Visited 2019

Doing a re-visit and review of the Van Der Hagen Traditional Shave Set (formerly VDH Premium Shave Set) to see what's changed. After 4 years of service, My old shave brush gave up on me and I saw they changed their brush design so I thought I would give it a try. Just like with their razor redesign, It's a definite improvement. The set contains a boar hair brush, shave soap, and a shave bowl. The brush has a medium sized knot and sheds a little at first, but seems to stop after some use. Like most boar brushes, It definitely has a lot of backbone and needs a break in. The soap is glycerin based and contains shea butter and aloe vera. It also smells really nice! The bowl is just a small ceramic bowl, but it gets the job done. Not much to say about it. Overall I'm very satisfied with it.It's very inexpensive considering what you get. Everything in the box is decent quality and is enough to get you well on your way into wet shaving. While your at it don't forget to pick up a safety razor!
