The fat positivity movement arose on Instagram after one particular standard of beauty gained prominence on the platform. We've since seen the downfall of the body positivity movement and seen social media's true colors: everyone having the same face and beauty algorithms dictating our preferences. Cosmetic procedures are at an all time high and we've replaced the unique beauty of the 90s supermodel era with parasocial influencer culture where botox, lip filler, and bbl's are constantly promoted.
