Een oase van rust in hartje Sittard | Kloosterserie | KRO-NCRV

Sister Johanna, an economist, is responsible for, among other things, the current renovation of the Carmelite Sisters' convent in Sittard and recognizes many of the concerns people face in everyday life. How do you manage everything? In the past, the Carmelite Sisters (also known as the "Sisters of the Kollenberg") in Sittard dedicated themselves to helping poor, neglected, and foster children. The congregation was founded around 1880 by Anna Maria Tauscher, a woman of Lutheran descent. She converted to Catholicism and chose to live as a Carmelite. Because she wanted to contribute to society in addition to her contemplative life, she founded children's homes in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the United States, and also in the Netherlands, in Sittard. Next to the convent is the convent; it is also the Motherhouse from which all foundations worldwide are managed and supervised. How do we find peace in our hectic lives? Can we still be vulnerable in these difficult times? Presenter Leo Fijen consults with monks and nuns at home and abroad on these kinds of contemporary questions. © 2014 🔔 Subscribe to our channel for more inspiring stories and conversations about faith, spirituality, and humanity. 💬 Leave a comment: What touched you most in this video?
