(See the "How to Wire-Wrap a Rosebud" video, to hang a rosebud off your dragonfly wing : )    • Rosebud WireWrap Tutorial (How to wire wra...   I had been wanting to share this online, and when a teacher (of little ones) who makes puppets said "it would be nice to know how to make them", it felt like the perfect time to record this tutorial Tools used: a pair of needle-nose pliers (smooth/ no teeth) and a simple pair of wire cutters. (There was a third tool in the video, but it didn't get used) This was one of those special gifts in life, because I didn't really learn it from anywhere; one day I was deep in thought.. and when i looked at the piece of wire I was bending, I realized it was a dragonfly : ) After a little practice you can make little dragonflies the size of a penny,, or a big dragonfly that's 5 feet wingtip to wingtip (using 10 and/or 12 gauge wire) with options of adding in silver and brass spirals all through the wings. This simple wrap has brought many people joy (And I hope it brings you and all your loved ones great joy too!) All my wraps are created from recycled wire that's been rescued off the streets or has been donated from loved ones around The wire here was 22 gauge, but if you use a little thicker wire.. like 20 gauge, they make a nice necklace pendant, with a little ring on the tip of a wing, for a string, ribbon or chain. And if you want to get fancy you can mix in different color wires, such as copper silver and brass.
