EP 1- Dance Competition Advice | Technique Is Not Enough | Ana Llorente | ALLOR DANCE

Dance Competition Advice | Ep. 1: Technique Is Not Enough In this first episode, I talk about why technique alone is not enough in dance competition, and why dancers must also develop artistry, identity, performance quality, and purpose. My name is Ana Llorente and I am a former multiple World Ballroom Champion. In this video, I share some of the most important lessons I learned as a Professional dancer competitor. Every competitive dancer may identify with the difficulties I had during my career, including the pressure of scores, places, championships, prizes, politics, expectations, and the ongoing desire to show oneself on the competition floor. But through all of that, I learned something very important: Technique is extremely important, but technique alone is not enough. In this video, I discuss why some dancers may impress us with their technique, but it's the dancers who move us that we really remember. Great competitors are not always artists. But every unforgettable dancer has artistry.
