The Beast Best Bits - Coed Y Brenin - Day 1

Coed Y Brenin, at last. Due to Covid-19 and rightly so we had to cancel some weekend trips that were planned for 2020. So, with a break in the lockdown we made plans for an Oct shred. The weekender was originally planned for South Wales but as we know lockdown is taking hold right now. So, with restrictions a little easier to manage in North Wales we settled for that location. Amazing either way I'd say. I've seen the Beast trail on YouTube so many times, and I suppose it's another trail on my bucket list to complete. Almost all of the group were travelling from the South and it took about 5-6 hours in total. By no means is this a short drive. The views on the way into Wales make it all worth it big time. Coed Y Brenin was literally 2 miles down the road from our campsite and after a night of drinking, banter and all-round goodness we collectively decided that "The Beast" trail was the one. A little unsettled in the morning "I wonder why" we headed off to start the adventure. You'll see for yourself exactly what it was like in the edit. It's not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Savage climbs, rough terrain and epic descents. "THE DREAM" The views at ever high point of Coed Y Brenin were simply stunning. Something you'd need to experience for yourself as the gravity of the beautiful landscape cannot be justified on a GoPro.
