Cotopaxi volcano is the second highest mountain in Ecuador at 5,987 meters above sea level, second only to Chimborazo at 6,300 meters. We undertook the expedition at dawn on February 22, 2026. We traveled from the city of Cuenca to the Cotopaxi reserve.
