Kure is a military port town that was the former home of the Navy. We visited Alley Karasu Kojima Park, the only place in Japan where you can see a Maritime Self-Defense Force submarine up close, and Ondo no Seto, with it's beautiful crimson bridge. A relaxing walk with a view of the bridge, the warship, and the Seto Inland Sea is very relaxing. We also enjoyed a day of eating delicious udon noodles and sushi and enjoying the gourmet food of the Seto Inland Sea. If you come to Hiroshima, please visit Kure as well.
