Auf zum Eselsplatz über Köte Schindelkopf

The shortest route to the Schindelkopf hut begins at the Osterode Forest Bird Station. It's a continuous uphill climb of approximately 3 kilometers. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. A rest area is available. The total elevation gain is approximately 300 meters. From the mill pond in Lerbach, a short but steep ascent to the Marienblick viewpoint begins. From there, the trail descends gently before the final 400 meters involve another significant climb. A good rest area is also available here.
