2013 1A Public Championship: Marion vs. Charlton

Lorenzo Smothers hauled in a 22-yard touchdown pass from Justin Eckert early in the fourth quarter for the game’s lone score as Marion County edged Charlton County 12-3 to capture the Class A Public School state title. Smothers also rushed for 105 yards on 20 carries, while the Eagles’ defense clamped down, limiting Charlton to just six first downs and 137 total yards.
