BLSKS CONCLUDES 3 DAYS HISTORICAL SUDHMAHDEV CULTURAL FESTIVAL & NASHA MUKAT BHARAT ABHIYAN

Jammu 30th June 2026, To promote and preserve the traditional Duggar culture of Jammu & Kashmir & celebrated the Sudhmahdev Mela 2026 , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, concluded 3 days festival with Mega Devotional Performances in its 507th Wednesday Series Musical Play “ Bham Bham Bhole” at Govt Hr. Sec School, Sudhmahadev, in close coordination with Ministry of Culture , Govt. of India , Central Bureau Communication (Ministry of I&B) & Jk Dharmarth Trust Sudhmahadev. Sh. Minga Sherpa, IAS , Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate of Udhampur who was the Chief Guest on the occasion . Along with Members of Sh. Sh. Pankaj Singh Bahu ji , Tehsildar Chenani & Mela Officer , Sh Sanjeev Sharma ,Naib tehsildar Chenani , Sh. Som Raj , Principal Govt. Hr Sec. School ,Sudhmahadev , Sh. Rakesh Manhas, PEM Incharge Cultural activities Sudhmahdev , Sh.Vikram Singh, PEM – HSS Chenani and other senior officers besides representatives of Mela committee were the Guest of Honour. Hon’ble Chairman Trustee Dr. Karan Singh ji and other Dharmarth Trust thanks to Bhartiya Lok sangeet Kala sansthan , Ministry of Culture , Govt. of India , Central Bureau Communication , Department of Information & Public Relation, Udhampur, Department of Youth Servies & Sports, Chenani for Excellence performance & contribution in the Sudhmahadev mela ( 28th , 29th & 30Th June 2026). The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such an events historical festivals and highlighted the importance of Dugger culture in promoting traditional folk & culture including folk music and folk dances. During festivals and fairs people visit this temple to just listen to the songs sung by the sages and saints. These songs are dedicated to love shared between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. An ancient temple of Lord Shiva, also known as Aparneswar is located near Mantalai Lake. This is the place where mother Parvati was born and got married to Lord Shiva. The main shrine is very small and having an idol of Parvati as kanya. Another set of idols of Shiva and Parvati together and Shiva, Parvati and Ganesha is also found. However, the shiva lingam is the main idol of the temple. more than 30 thousands pilgrims seek the blessing of Lord Shiva. The Specially items prepared on the theme “ Koun Kare Teri arti Bhole Ji ”, “ Koi akhe Ram koi alha”, “Mera Bhola Na Mane ”, “ Shiv Nath Teri Mahima” “Swatch Bharat Ho ”, “Mere Hikdu Gadbad”, “Savdhan Savdhan ae Bhaart vasi Savdhan”, Nukkad, Skits , Songs were presented. The program was also recorded & uploaded online for benefit for general public. Welcoming the dignitaries and pilgrimages Dr.M.L.Dogra, Former Regional Director ,Song and Drama Division ,Government of India, and Sr Gurnam Singh , Nodal Officer CBC , informed the aims & objectives of the programme, promotion of duggar culture. Dogra also said the story of the Sudhmahdev Temple, located in the Udhampur district of Jammu, is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Pilgrims in large number visit the shrine on the full moon night of Sawan to participate in the festival to worship Lord Shiva. The mystical underground stream, Devak believed to be as sacred as the Ganges originates at Sudh Mahadev and disappears among the rocks some distance downstream . The renowned singers ,musician ,actors of various stages of India who performed were Usha Raina , Rajni Gupta, M C Kotwal, Chahat Chadha, Bindia Okheda, Anjana Sharma, Sona Jamwal, Harshita , Sant Dass, Anshu Balgotra , Poly Devi, Sanjay Kumar Pashi and many others presented the enthralled performance.
