Google Play Music https://play.google.com/music/m/Iwyth... MichaelAnn Byrne, 22, lives in Mechanicsburg with her mom & sister. She is a Cumberland Valley High School Alumni. She is a member of Young Adults Creating Change (YACC) and Wheels in Motion. MichaelAnn discovered her love of designing and making jewelry in high school and now owns her own business selling her jewelry. Sherry Byrne lives in Mechanicsburg with her daughters, MichaelAnn & Shenelle, and their foster dog, Meatball. Sherry began working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the early 80’s. She worked in Nebraska and Montana where she worked as direct care staff, group home manager, and training coordinator. In the early 90’s she was introduced to person centered planning and began using them with people she supported. She saw a dramatic, positive change in people using these tools. Since moving to Pennsylvania in 1999, she has advocated for people with developmental disabilities volunteering with many advocacy and parent groups. She has held positions on the Local Interagency Coordinating Council, Governor appointed State Interagency Coordinating Council, and was a board member of Parent to Parent of PA. She has presented to different disability, parent groups and conferences throughout the state on self-determination, person first language, person centered planning among other topics. Sherry has a passion for assisting people with significant intellectual disabilities and expanding people’s perceptions of their abilities. She believes everyone should have the opportunity to live a full life and contribute to the community as they see fit. She is currently working as an Independent Supports Broker assisting people who direct their own supports. Ali Hrasok is a member of the governing board of the Pennsylvania Youth Leadership Network (PYLN).
