Hutridurga (Uttari Betta) Trek - Trekking With A Difference

Hutridurga or Uttari Betta is emerging as a popular trekking destination. It is located about 65 kilometres from Bangalore city in the Kunigal Taluk of Hassan District. Hutridurga is a fortified hill. The fort with 7 gates was built by Kempegowda, the founder of Bangalore. The history of Hutridurga is also associated with Tipu Sultan and Krishnadevaraya. Evidence of pre-historic civilization in the region has also been uncovered. On the occasion of Republic Day, India Tourism Bangalore which is an arm of Incredible India under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, organized a unique Prekking programme, to clean the plastic waste left behind by trekkers.
