I also interviewed Belén Chávez, product manager for Omoda Spain, and asked her all the questions you send me: reliability, spare parts, fuel consumption, financing, prejudices against Chinese cars… and she answered absolutely everything. 🔹 OMODA 5 HYBRID: INTERIOR AND EQUIPMENT The Omoda 5 boasts a surprisingly spacious interior for its price: Soft-touch plastics on the dashboard and doors Dual 12.3” touchscreen Wireless Android Auto/CarPlay Power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated seats (depending on the trim level) Wireless charging, dual-zone climate control Panoramic sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting Cameras up to 540º, full ADAS, and over-the-air updates It also features a 372 L trunk and ample interior space. 🔹 SHS HYBRID POWERTRAIN The hybrid system combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged Miller-cycle engine with two electric motors: 224 hp and 295 Nm of torque 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds Real-world fuel consumption between 4.4 and 5 L/100 km Battery 1.83 kWh LFP ECO Label A very efficient engine, with 44.5% thermal efficiency according to the manufacturer. 🔹 JAECOO 5 ELECTRIC I already made a full video about the Jaecoo 5 electric, but in this presentation, its adventurous focus caught my attention: Roof rack Integrated awning Modern and well-finished interior 🔹 INTERVIEW WITH OMODA SPAIN – KEY ANSWERS Are the interiors of low quality? The brand assures us that real customer feedback is very positive. Even so, they will continue to improve materials if necessary. Are the engines "fuel guzzlers"? The hybrid has one of the most efficient engines on the market. The pure gasoline engines consume what any gasoline SUV typically consumes. Are spare parts available in Spain? Omoda has an official warehouse in Azuqueca de Henares. They claim to have over 90% of the parts in stock. Spare parts available in 24 hours. Reliability of Chinese cars? The brand claims they aren't receiving any major complaints and that customers are satisfied. 80 kWh battery for the Jaecoo 5? It's not confirmed yet, but they are working on expanding the options. 4x4 version? It's not planned for the electric Jaecoo 5, although a higher-end model with 4x4 (Jaecoo 8) will be available. OTA updates and app? They already work on plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles. They will be extended to self-charging hybrids. Expensive financing? They assure that their interest rates are in line with the market. Those who don't want financing can pay in cash. Is there still prejudice against Chinese cars?
