In this update on the Rosewood Florida Heirloom Chickering Grand Piano rebuild, we are diving deep into the digital modeling stage. Before cutting any material or moving to manufacturing, we have to map out every single critical reference point to ensure a flawless fit. In this video, I break down the exact measurements needed to build the digital 3D model, including: Finding a fixed reference point on the bass side wall Determining the exact string height and the crucial hammer strike point Mapping the key bed, damper recess, stretcher, and pin block Plotting the fallboard pivot to avoid an opening/closing nightmare Getting the action geometry set just right is a long and winding road, but our final digital model is officially complete.
