With Akşehir Lake, located within the Afyonkarahisar-Konya border, beginning to fill with water again, a specially designed boat was launched into the water. Orhan Daşkın, an industrialist living in Akşehir, and his friends are now venturing out onto the lake with a boat they had built to suit the lake's unique conditions. While normal boats cannot navigate the lake's shallow shores, the aluminum-hulled boat with a mud engine can move both in shallow waters and on muddy bottoms. The 10 boats produced in workshops in Akşehir are enabling the local residents to enjoy the views they have longed for for years. By venturing onto the lake, the residents have the opportunity to closely observe nature and the lives of birds. "We used to travel here with cars and tractors," said industrialist Orhan Daşkın, expressing his joy at being able to venture onto the lake again after so long. Daşkın explained that the water level in the lake was approaching 1 meter, and that the shallow waters near the shore prevented normal boats from moving forward. He said, "We used to travel here with cars and tractors. This year the rain was good. So we designed our own boat to go out. It's a wonderful feeling to travel in this lightweight boat and watch these birds and the animal kingdom." He added, "It was made with a longing for this place." Nature enthusiast Osman Arslan stated that they were experiencing the indescribable happiness of going out on the lake after many years. Arslan, who said that the boat that can move in shallow waters was made with great longing, said, "The water we waited for for 20 years has arrived. We are traveling and exploring. There is a water depth of 90 centimeters in almost the middle of the lake. We haven't seen this water level for years. Hopefully, it will get even better. Three months ago, cars were moving in the place where we are standing now." Ramazan Kova also expressed that they were enjoying the pleasure of traveling on the lake with their special boat.
