日産　自動運転タクシーで協業　「ウーバー」と連携 東京で運行へ(2026年3月12日)

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced that it is collaborating with Uber, the American ride-sharing giant, with the aim of launching self-driving taxis in Tokyo later this year. Nissan President Ivan Espinosa said, "Collaboration is key to accelerating innovation, and this partnership will enable us to move forward with speed and reliability." The self-driving taxis will use Nissan Leaf vehicles. The vehicles will be equipped with a driver assistance system using AI (artificial intelligence) technology being developed with British startup Wayve, and the aim is to begin operating in Tokyo later this year. Uber's dispatch system will be used, and in the initial phase, trained drivers will be on board. The company hopes to expand the service both domestically and internationally in the future.
