Extreme Japanese Food on Saint Marks Place (NYC Food Vlog)

A full food and cocktail journey through St. Mark’s in Lower Manhattan featuring multiple stops across one of New York City’s most concentrated nightlife corridors. We started at Crif Dogs attempting to access the hidden speakeasy entrance through the phone booth. Entry required reservations and the venue was fully booked at the time, though contact information was taken for potential availability. Next stop was Amor y Amargo, a cocktail bar known for its bitters forward approach. The experience centered on custom crafted cocktails made exclusively with spirits and bitters, without the use of water or juice dilution, highlighting pure flavor construction and technique driven mixology. We then visited Death & Co for a round of cocktails, including a variation of a sour style drink. The visit was brief and concluded after one drink due to the overall atmosphere and service experience. The final stop was Kenka, a Japanese izakaya style restaurant known for unconventional menu items. We tried a range of dishes including fried frog, fish liver, bull penis, and chicken balls, paired with bottles of sake, making it the most experimental culinary segment of the night. A complete contrast of experiences across cocktails, hospitality, and extreme food culture in one neighborhood. #nycvlog #NYCFood
