When Everything Finally Clicks

Headed back to Manito Lake, and for once, the fish did not make me work all day to figure them out. I solved the puzzle early, and the action remained consistent throughout the trip. The bass were willing to cooperate, and I had a blast catching fish all day long. One of the highlights was getting into them while punching through the lily pads, something I always enjoy when the fish are holding tight to cover. The day was not just about catching fish, though. I also came across two bass that had been accidentally gut-hooked. Fortunately, I was able to safely remove the hooks and release both fish back into the water. Trips like this are a reminder of why we keep coming back. Great fishing, new lessons, and the opportunity to help protect the resource for future anglers.
