As a recycling entrepreneur, politician Karin Bertschi employs asylum seekers and protects the environment. At the same time, she is a politician in the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau for the SVP. "The employment program for refugees is a matter close to my heart," emphasizes the 27-year-old entrepreneur. Just recently, thanks to Karin Bertschi, a young Eritrean was able to enter the Swiss professional world. The fact that she completely deviates from the SVP party line on the refugee issue doesn't bother her. "Then we just disagree," she stated in a conversation with former SVP President Toni Brunner. It's no wonder that not everyone in the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau can understand why Karin Bertschi is a politician for the SVP. The entrepreneur was elected to the Aargau cantonal parliament at the end of 2016, thanks to a brilliant election result in her district of Kulm. However, she still struggles with the day-to-day routine of parliament. "I don't like having to sit around for so long; I have a lot of ideas and want to implement them quickly." Even as the managing director of a recycling company, Karin Bertschi sometimes needs more patience than she'd like. She only has a temporary building permit for a new construction project in Spreitenbach. "You can threaten me with a lawyer, but I want to push through with this project, and it will simply be realized." Karin Bertschi actually succeeds in convincing the authorities of her project. At the moment of her success, the SVP woman first thanks God. She lives according to the Christian values ​​of a free church. Her faith was a decisive influence on her choice of political party, she reveals to our reporter Christian Vogt.
