New shit has come to light, as the Dude would say - There's a Francis Rossi interview somewhere where he says in the studio he tuned the high E down to a B and played the riff in unison to get the phase-y sound. I wasn't aware of this when I made the video. Live it looks like standard tuning to me. Works well either way.
