Wild Camping, Outdoor Cooking and Off-Roading | Nash Oakland UK

In this video we visit a wild camping style campsite on the Welsh border in Presteigne, called Nash Oakland Wild Camping. We gathered our usual group of Jeep friends and stayed for the night in this family farm and woodland in Herefordshire. Since it’s opening earlier this year the site has gained popularity within the off-road and overlanding community in the UK. The owners allow us to explore their land whenever it’s possible to do so without disturbing other campers. There is a ford on site and we all know off roaders love a good water crossing. Campfires are allowed as long as they are raised off the ground. The owners Shirley and Rick make sure campers get their privacy, peace and quiet by spreading the pitches far away from each other. You can pick your camp spot to a certain extent, dependent on how booked up the campsite it. The best way to contact Nash is to message them on their Facebook page. There are no amenities on site so it is perfect for self contained campers. Wether you want to try out your set up before setting off on a long overland trip, or you want to find out if this kind of camping is for you, we think Nash is perfect for both. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, set up camp and waited for the rest of our mates to arrive. After cooking some delicious dinner outdoors - our favorite burgers we had a nice peaceful evening catching up with friends around the campfire. We had a really good night sleep in our rooftop tent, we were well prepared for some green laning the next day. The main lane for the day was the Welsh “Water break it's neck”. The lane wasn’t too technical but it provided great views all the way up to Snowdonia at one point.
