CHARLOTTE CATHOLIC VS PROVIDENCE DAY “THE FILM” PRIVATE SCHOOL GAME OF THE YEAR!?!?

Charlotte Catholic and Providence Day have had their fair share of success away from playing each other since 2016. Since Charlotte Catholic has the reputation of being one of the best football teams and having one of the best stadium atmospheres in not only the city of Charlotte but the State of North Carolina. Charlotte Catholic has a history of success with 8 State Championships along with a 4 peat from 2017-2021. Charlotte Catholic has a history of producing great talent: Elijah Hood , running back at UNC, Jaret Anderson, and Derrick Taylor. Current star players include UNCC QB commit Sean Boyle, wide receiver Jacob Deller who has multiple offers/interests from D1 programs and Notre Dame Tight End commit Jack Larsen. Catholic’s winning over the last 20 plus years in not only football but all sports has led to them being one of the most disliked schools in the state with controversial geographic boundary complaints when Catholic moved to 4A then back down to 3A. Providence Day has also had their fair share of success in the NCISAA, a conference that Catholic does not compete. Providence Day was able to win their first State Championship in 10 years last year with a win over Rabun Gap. Providence Day similar to Catholic has a plethora of D1 athletes with the likes of Porter Rooks, Ikem Ekwonu and Elijah Brown. PD also has D1 talent like Jordan Shipp, Chris Peal, Channing Goodwin, Brody Barnhardt, David Sanders Jr. , Keyaan Abdul-Rahim, and one of the best quarterbacks in the state with country Jadyn Davis. Providence Day is very similar to Catholic with a private school setting plus a rigorous academic program and a very storied athletic program. While Catholic has won the past 2 meetings with the last one being in 2016 at Providence Day. In 2022, for the first time ever Catholic hosted Providence Day at Keffer Stadium. It was destined to be one for the ages.
