Tito Schipa - M'apparì (1963 live recording) RARE!
Exceedingly rare private recording of Tito Schipa (1888-1965) singing Lionel's aria "M'Apparì tutt' amor" from Friedrich von Flotow's opera Martha. This was recorded during one of the tenor's final public appearances in 1963, possibly at the Teatro Margherita in Viareggio. Although the tenor, then in his 75th year, is obliged to transpose the aria and rewrite the vocal line to avoid the climactic top note, he still gives a winning performance of this operatic warhorse, much to the public's delight.
