The Union Cabinet has approved the expansion of Delhi Metro Phase 5A at a cost of ₹12,015 crore, marking a major boost to India’s urban transport infrastructure. The new phase will add 16 kilometres across three corridors, featuring 13 stations, most of them underground. With this expansion, Delhi Metro’s operational network will cross 400 kilometres, placing it among the top five metro systems globally.
