After a decade, we returned to Sanischare Bhutanese Refugee Camp—the place that holds the roots of our childhood, our struggles, and our most precious memories. This journey was more than just a visit. It was a return to the place where we learned to live with little but love deeply. We walked the dusty paths we once ran as children, stood in front of the school where we studied with hope, and many more places. 🎉 Hosted a reunited party with old neighbors and relatives, a special lunch at the local Adult Day Care and Celebrated our beloved mummy’s 51st birthday 🎂 — a woman who gave her all to raise us in hardship. One of the most emotional moments was remembering our late Papa, Janga Bahadur Rungmahangchha, whose presence was deeply felt as we stood in the very places he once walked with us. His spirit lives in every corner of the camp, and in every memory we carry. We also visited the jungle, the Kankai Mai River, and our ancestors’ resting place—offering prayers and gratitude for the lives that came before us.
