I welded short pieces of rebard to the backside of the metal pieces, which will hold them in place once the concrete is poured. I fabricated a box for the propane controls and added some vents to allow the needed airflow into the underside of the firepit. Once I had the finished forms in place, I mixed some concrete and poured it. A couple days later I removed the forms. Lastly, I installed the gas burner and filled it in with lava rock.
