The Wichita Mountains located in southwest Oklahoma is home to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. There are many places in the refuge that are great for hiking and exploring. Elk Mountain which rises to the height of 2,270 feet is one of the main places where you get hike to a granite boulder landscape and look upon the Great Plains below. Buffalo, longhorn cattle, elk, and deer call this place home. Near Medicine Park, Lawton, and Fort Sill.
