Kronika Oblężonego Miasta / Chronicle of the Besieged City
During the last months of II World War heavy fighting took place in many German cities between the defending Wehrmacht and the advancing Red Army. One of these cities was Wrocław. In the face of the enemy, the authorities declared Wrocław a fortress, although it did not have adequate fortifications that had to be created ad hoc during the clashes. The image of the days of heavy fighting was presented by Paul Peikert. It is interesting because it is seen through the eyes of the parish priest of one of Wrocław's parishes. "May this diary and the above account one day show future generations what the people of our times had to suffer, and may the merciful God in His goodness deign to protect them from a similar misfortune." Paul Peikert, priest Remember the patron of our episode - Młodzieżowe Centrum Sportu Wrocław (Youth Sports Center Wrocław).
