Ants are societies made up mostly of females that are capable of solving incredible challenges (overcoming obstacles, architecture, agriculture, medicine, hunting) without a leader and without a pre-established plan. The success of ants can be summed up in a few words: Sacrifice, Resilience, Altruism, Cooperation, and Self-organization. Audrey Dussutour is a CNRS researcher specializing in the study of ant and slime mold behavior. She is the author of about fifty scientific articles and a book. She has received several awards for her work on ants, including the "Le Monde" Research Prize and the Wetrems Prize from the Belgian Academy of Sciences.
