When Inner Identity Begins to Transform Environments, Families, and Generations “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” Romans 8:19 Creation expects mature children, not immature religious people. There is a profound difference between existing as a child of God and manifesting oneself as a child of God. Existing as a child speaks of identity received by grace. Manifesting oneself as a child speaks of maturity revealed by life. Everyone who is in Christ has been made a child of God. But not every child fully manifests the life of the Father in the world. Some still live bound by guilt. Others still live as slaves to fear. Others carry an orphan mentality. Others have gifts, but lack maturity. Others have spiritual language, but are still governed by wounds, vanity, pride, fear, envy, comparison, and the need for approval. That is why Romans 8:19 is so profound: “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” Creation doesn't just expect religious people. It doesn't just expect speeches. It doesn't just expect titles. It doesn't just expect institutions. It doesn't just expect an appearance of piety. Creation groans, waiting for manifest children. Children who carry the character of the Son. Children who reveal the Father's righteousness. Children who are led by the Spirit. Children who not only speak of God, but express God in their attitudes, decisions, relationships, environments, and responsibilities. The manifestation of God's children is not a spectacle of power.
