Cruising the Maldives; a paradise, or not?

Lisl and Andy sail south on An Cala, their 36 foot ketch, from Ulligan island, in the Maldives, exploring uninhabited islands and atolls. They swim with dolphins, manta rays and nurse sharks, and dive on the Captain Pantelis wreck with fantastic visibility and tons of reef fish. They buy fresh fruit and vegetables directly from the farm on Goidhoo atoll, and rest in hammocks in the shade under the palm trees. On some of the islands, there is a lot of rubbish washed up on the beach, a problem happening around the world. Should they burn the rubbish, or leave it? Is the Maldives a paradise? Let them know your thoughts in the comments.
