Horizontal and Vertical Continuous Casting of Copper Alloy

Each year as part of CBSA's annual service center training event, we offer a metallurgy webinar presented by the Copper Development Association. This webinar allows the event attendees, as well as those members and nonmembers who won't be in attendance, to learn about the hosting mill's processes and capabilities and gives context to the information that will be presented during the one-day training. ​ The lead-in webinar for the 2016 Service Center Training event will be presented Wednesday, September 28 and will focus on the Horizontal and Vertical Continuous Casting of Copper Alloys and Subsequent Processing. ​ The webinar will cover the production of copper alloys by both the horizontal and vertical continuous casting processes. Further it will discuss the after casting processing of the alloys to provide good material properties. ​ Additionally, a review of the copper alloy designation system (UNS system) and the alloys produced at Concast Metal Products will be presented. ​ Final usage of materials and products will also be reviewed to provide better understanding of the overall manufacturing process.
