The1Rogue vs Spawnoza: 2024 Q1 Beginner Tak Tournament Quarterfinals - Commentary - Blitz Tiebreaker

This is the Blitz Tiebreaker of the Quarterfinals match between The1Rogue and Spawnoza in the January 2024 Beginner Tak Tournament. They split the two games in their match, and now have to play 2-game blitz tiebreaker matches until one person wins both in a set. The game is dramatically different at these blitz time controls. Whoever wins this blitz tiebreaker moves on to the Semifinals against Evoshen. Blitz time Controls are 3 minutes + 5-second increment, all other rules of the game are the same as the below description. 0:00 Introduction 2:26 Game 1 19:52 Game 2 This is the 2024 January Beginner Tak Tournament, which is played on a 6x6 board with a 15-minute time limit for each player and a 10-second increment per turn. These are 2-game matches, so the players get a chance to play as each color when facing each opponent. The tournament was played in six round-robin groups with the winner of each group moving on to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The two players who received a perfect score in their groups had a BYE in the Quarterfinals and moved on to the Semifinals. The first-place winner of this tournament gets their pick of the Wolf and Hawk metal capstones or a 2nd Edition Tak Set(provided by Greater Than Games) as a prize with second place taking what remains. Additionally, there is a drawing for 4 random players who completed all of their games to win either a paperback copy of Mastering Tak: Level 1 or a high-level game review from a top player.
