Today, we have all the necessary technologies to clone a person and create their genetic copy. Moreover, we have technologies that allow us to do even more unusual things. We can create children with genetic material from three parents to combat hereditary diseases. We can create an organism with the genetic material of two fathers (this has already been done in mice). Or, conversely, we can make a woman give birth to a 👯‍♀️ copy of herself without any male involvement. We can create embryos from adult cells. We can clone extinct or endangered species. We can clone those who have recently died (although this will not restore their personality). All of this comes down not so much to technology, but to the limitations imposed on scientists by a society that has not kept up with the pace of progress. Rejection of technology is often linked to widespread myths about it (such as the erroneous idea that clones age quickly or that cloning is impossible, which is futilely promoted by biologists like Sergei Savelyev).
