Helmsdale to Wick (and on to John O'Groats)

In this episode, we leave Helmsdale and head north following the NC500 along the east coast, following the road through dramatic coastal scenery, open landscapes and historic landmarks on the way to Wick — before continuing on towards John O’Groats. The journey takes in the changing character of the far north: from the fishing village atmosphere of Helmsdale, through wide open roads and rugged coastline, to the famous signpost and windswept edge-of-the-map feeling at John O’Groats. This is part of my Scottish road trip series, combining travel footage, stills, narration and original music — a personal journey through some of the most striking places in the UK.
