How to Connect xbox 360 controller to pc with play & charge kit

I have the following problem I wanna connect this xbox 360 controller to my pc running windows 8.1 pro So I installed the correct drivers from Microsoft's website and still have this issue and i did remove the drivers and reinstall them over and over again and nothing happens.... And I tried to restart the computer every time i install the driver and unplug the controller and plug it again and still nothing happens Please help.... I appreciate this And thank you :)
