Emotional and Expansive "Inspector Imanishi Investigates" By Seicho Matsumoto
Although I saw the very impressive movie by Yoshitaro Nomura in 1975, I've never read this crime mystery book by Seicho Matsumoto till now. After I got interested in Seicho Matsumoto's prolific crime mystery fictions, I realised that I have to read the book titled "Inspector Imanishi Investigates", which is very different title against original "Sand Castle". The book is very expansive with many likely leads to a crime perpetrator with the background of war, poverty and discriminations in the past. Also, the book depicts the contemporary political and cultural scenes of 1960 Japan. I really enjoyed the 340 pages book which is a page turner. The story is also about this inspector Imanishi and his persistent investigations.
