“Delicias peligrosas”: clausuran restaurantes del Centro de Lima por insalubridad

A new inspection operation revealed the alarming state of health at several traditional restaurants in downtown Lima. A Panorama team accompanied municipal officers during the surprise inspection, finding that many establishments did not meet the minimum hygiene standards required by law. During the intervention, municipal inspectors found kitchens with dirty utensils, food stored without adequate refrigeration, and utensils covered in grease. In addition, several workers were handling food without gloves, hats, or uniforms, violating basic food safety standards. In light of this evidence, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima imposed severe fines on the offending establishments and proceeded to close those where the health risk was greatest. Inspectors warned that repeated violations of this type could lead to the permanent revocation of operating licenses. COMPLY WITH THE REGULATIONS Municipal authorities urged restaurant and cafe owners in downtown Lima to comply with health regulations, reminding everyone that improper food handling can cause serious gastrointestinal illnesses. Inspection operations, they announced, will continue unannounced. Go to http://ptv.pe/455394 for more information. Broadcast on Panamericana Televisión's Panorama program on 10/05/2025.
