RETIRED CITIZENS of the SMOKIES MEMORIAL HIKE

A Memorial Hike and History in Greenbrier took place on Porter's Creek trail. The hike went up to the John Messer Barn and Hikers Cabin. Along the way, Walt McFalls shared some of his family's history, accompanied by new spring growth, and appreciative listeners. Hikers returned to the Greenbrier Pavilion around 12 for the Memorial Picnic and reflective words by Mary Porter, widow of Carl Porter (see next video). RCS member Lew Bolton videotaped the hike for Smoky Mountain Historical Society.
