La Corrida - Francis Cabrel (Greg Gontier cover)

ALBUM: https://open.spotify.com/album/5TlLQa... Just a little context that might be important if you're not a Francophone. This song tells the story of a Spanish bullfight, but it does so from the perspective of the bull and in the first person. In the first verse, the bull basically doesn't understand what's happening and is waiting in a dark room. Here are a few lines from that verse: "In the first moments I thought I only had to defend myself, but this place has no exit, I'm starting to understand". As the song goes on, the bull slowly understands that he's witnessing his own execution and that the people cheering in the arena are waiting for him to die. It took me years to even pay attention to the lyrics. I always just thought it was a pretty little song, but it turns out it's this big dramatic epic. The last line says "I hear them cheer as I give in, I didn't think people could have so much fun around a grave". Heavy stuff from Francis Cabrel. I don't know of any song even close to this in terms of unique storytelling. This is on my album that dropped yesterday. 21 songs. 12 originals, 9 covers. Enjoy. Thanks for all your support. And yes, this is the surprise cover that I was going on about! Merch: greggontier.com Tik Tok:   / greg.gontier   Instagram:   / greg_gontier   Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7CGE2...
