Chatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) Trip 2026:- Visit at Grihaneshwar Temple and Daulatabad fort

Hlo guys, Welcome back to my YouTube channel, In this video I m going to cover about First day of the trip at Grihaneshwar Temple, which is a part of one of the the twelve jyotirlingas. It's situated next to the Ellora caves. I couldn't make enough video as the phone wasn't allowed inside the temple. Directly from Airport we went towards the temple. On the way I saw Daulatabad fort but didn't explore as it could take around one and half day.I m sharing the time for the temple. Grihaneshwar Temple:- Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga, the 12th and final Jyotirlinga mentioned in the Shiva Purana, is located in Verul village, Maharashtra, just 30 km from Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar) and 1 km from the Ellora Caves. Built in the 18th century by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, this ancient temple is renowned for its intricate red basalt Hemadpanti carvings.Key Details for Your Visit:Darshan Timings: The temple is open daily from 05:30 AM to 09:00 PM.Dress Code: Men are required to remove their shirts and enter the Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) bare-chested.Temple Etiquette: Uniquely, devotees are permitted to directly touch the Shiva Linga with their bare hands.Travel: It is easily accessible via road, rail, and air from Aurangabad, which is about a 45-minute drive away. Daulatabad Fort:-Daulatabad Fort, originally known as Devagiri, is an imposing 12th-century hill fortress located just 16 km from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad) in Maharashtra. Sitting on a 200-meter-high conical hill, it is celebrated as a masterpiece of medieval military engineering.HistoryFounded: Built in 1187 by Bhillama V of the Yadava dynasty.Capital City: Sultan Muhammad bin Tughluq of Delhi captured it in the 14th century and renamed it Daulatabad (the "City of Prosperity"), famously shifting his capital here from Delhi.Subsequent Rulers: Over the centuries, control passed to the Bahmani Sultanate, the Nizam Shahis, the Mughals, and the Nizams of Hyderabad.Engineering and DefensesThe fort was designed to be virtually impenetrable.
