17. Ridge View High School Blazer Band Black Swan @ SCBDA 4A Preliminaries The culmination of hard work all season long ended with 4A Preliminaries and Finals. Thanks to River Bluff Gator Band for the invitation to capture 4A state championships and for a long, but satisfying day. Every marching band that performed this day are amazing! You worked and practiced your way to the prelims, and your shows were so fun. Every year I try and do something a little better. This year, we had a new Mic and noise isolation box. it did a really good job of isolating the field but the announcement speaker was again on the left side of the field, outside of the audio capture lobes, and that made things a little muffled with the announcements. We also had some judges up there with us, but I think the new noise isolation did a great job of muting it as much as possible considering that they were within 20 feet of the highly sensitive microphone. Can't have a competition without some judges, and I hope that we were able to muffle them enough to enjoy these performances. To the band directors: You’ve led these students to this amazing point, I hope I can capture (in image and videos) how awesome they sound, how vibrant they are and please use this as a study aid if needed. I look forward to working with you this year again. Band directors helped my kids be so much better, so I do this for you 😎 To all the band members past, present and future: You are amazing! I didn’t have band growing up, and I saw how awesome my kids turned out by going through band. I am so excited to put into pictures and videos of the discipline and work that you all put into the sport, and I can’t wait to see what’s happening this year. I do this for you as well. 📸 To all the parents: I hope that my pics can help capture a moment of your kids as mine were captured. It helped my wife when she needed it, and friends and family members don’t get to see these sights normally.
