Hindi classical theatre production, “KARMANKUSH” presented by the National School of Drama (Ministry of Culture, Government of India). 📅 *Date*: Thursday, 16th April 2026 🕖 *Time*: 7:00 PM sharp 📍*Venue*: Abhimanch NSD (Mandi House) This beautiful production is directed by my dear friend and an exceptionally talented artist, Suman Saha (Meta Awardee). This occasion is deeply special to me, as it reflects a journey of over 30 years of learning and dedication to traditional music, nurtured in the Gurukul under the revered lineage of Baba Allauddin Khan. Through this performance, I seek to present the true spiritual essence of the *Tansen Parampara*. experience the richness, depth, and soul of Indian Classical Music. Pandit Dishari Chakraborty is a globally acclaimed artist, celebrated for his mastery of the Shatatantri Veena(Kashmiri Santoor). With over 35 years of experience as a versatile instruments educator, music performer, music producer, and cross-cultural collaborator of ICCR, he has earned widespread recognition for his unique and innovative contributions to Indian classical music. Although he received guidance from all the direct descendants of the Senia Maihar Gharana, he is primarily a self-taught musician. Maihar tradition holds no formal legacy or reference for the Santoor. To bridge this gap, he trained extensively in Sarod, Tabla, Naal-Tarang, and Pakhawaj, while also developing a strong foundation in European classical music, which continues to enrich his distinctive musical style. In 1993, received the first international award in Norway, was conferred the title of "Pandit" in 2022 by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Ministry of Culture, Govt of Bangladesh. Over the years, he has crafted scores that enrich the narrative texture of over 240 theatrical productions, reflecting his exceptional ability to interpret and elevate dramatic storytelling through music. Since 2005, his work in theater has garnered widespread acclaim, earning him the prestigious Natya Academy Award from the Government of West Bengal in 2024.Demonstrating his multifaceted talents, he also made a significant contribution to India’s cinematic heritage by directing the acclaimed Docu-feature “A Life in Dance: Pandit Uday Shankar” in 2017, produced by the Films Division of India.
